Samsung Galaxy Note 2 vs. S4: Phablet and flagship handset of the Samsung Galaxy line series face off in this comparison, with their centerpiece specs compared on which is better. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes with a slightly bigger 5.5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. The Galaxy S4, on the other hand, has a 5-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920.

In a review by the International Business Times, it noted that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 comes with a 151.1 x 80.5 x 9.4 mm dimensions and is quite heavier weighing 183 grams. The Samsung Galaxy S4 is lighter 136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 mm dimensions and only weighs 130 grams.

In terms of OS, both the devices run on the Android Jelly Bean operating system. The Android 4.3 update has been made available for both of it already. They also both have 2GB of RAM.

Under the hood, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has 1.6GHz quad core cortex A9 processor and Exynos 4412 Quad chipset. Options in terms of storage for the handset are 16GB, 32GB and 64GB internal memory. It can be expanded to have up to 64GB via Micro SD card.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 can also have 64GB via a Micro SD card and does come in 16GB, 32 GB and 64GB storage variants as well. It has a 1.6GHz quad core cortex A15 and 1.2GHz wuad core cortex A7 processor and Exynos 5 Octa 5410 chipset.

Camera-wise the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has an 8MP front-facing camera, while the S4 has a 13MP camera on the same side. On the rear, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and S4 has a 1.9 MP and 2MP sensor, respectively.

A mere 1-hour more talk time is what gives the S4 an edge in terms of battery power. It can last up to 17 hours on single charge with its Li-Ion 2600 mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has 16 hours of battery time with its Li-Ion 3100 mAh battery.

UPDATE: The Samsung Galaxy S4 will have a brand new color model, the Arctic Blue is now available on Best Buy. It was earlier speculated that it may come with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, but a las, it runs on Android 4.3
