John Park: "I wanted to be a musician, not a celebrity"

John Park, who placed second in Mnet 'Super StarK 2' in 2010, debuted as a singer. There were rumors that John Park was scouted by a  big agency for a exclusive contract, but John Park threw away fame and money to fulfill his dreams of becoming a singer. He finally took his first step as the 'singer' John, not 'SSK2' John.

He finally released his first mini album 'Knock'. Under the big support of Kim DongRyul, he was able to show off his singing skills to the full extent. He was in charge of the producing of the title song 'Falling'.

John Park said, "I encountered a soft singing style instead of a yelling one through this song. While working with Kim DongRyul, I focused on the lyrics more than anything else. Through that, my singing style naturally changed. I'm so proud of myself for the lyrics I made. It was my first project as a singer-songwriter, and I plan to use more of my own songs for future albums."

For the past year, John focused only on music producing. He also studied more Korean so that he would know what kind of words to use while making the lyrics.

John said, "The long period of thinking made me realize that fame and money aren't everything. I realized that the only way I can succeed is through music. I wanted to be a musician, not a celebrity. So I had to throw away my greed. But that only made my passion for music even greater."
