Miley Cyrus is poised as one of the leading contenders in TIME Magazine's "Person of the Year" poll, leaving many fans wondering if her breakup with Liam Hemsworth helped her gain more attention.

The "Queens of Twerk" is currently leading in a poll of the year's most buzzed about names, pulling in 24 percent of the vote, according to the New York Daily News. Apparently, she beat out Pope Francis, Edward Snowden and Malala Yousafzai.

Earlier this week, Liam Hemsworth revealed he's much happier and stable after ending things with his ex-fiancé.

"These days I feel like I'm more centered and grounded than I've ever been," Liam Hemsworth said in an interview with People.

"I've learned so much. The first few years in L.A. were really tough and scary, but I had to figure things out for myself."

Miley Cyrus has been begging her ex-fiancé Liam Hemsworth to restart their relationship, HollywoodLife.com reports, leaving many fans wondering if the couple's break up will end soon.

The "Wrecking Ball" star has been "desperate to bump into  [Liam Hemsworth" and is "asking pals what clubs he might go to," a source told In Touch, according to the website.

"Miley became quite tearful and admitted she's still pining for Liam," the source also said.

"She's been texting him constantly, but he doesn't respond."
