LG G2 Android 4.4 KitKat Update: Korean-version Of Flagship Now Getting New OS, Canadian G2 Handsets Expected To Get KitKat On March 2014

LG G2 Android 4.4 KitKat update and news: GSM Arena reports that the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Korean-version of the unit is already seeding in the country. The tech site notes that if you’re a Korea-based owner of the LG G2, the new firmware is now waiting for you to get it.

LG G2 users in Korea needs to just use the official LG Update Tool on their computers instead of the over-the-air update available from the device. As for Android 4.4 KitKat rolling out into more devices, Pantech - a South Korean tech manufacturer, has said that it’s Pantech devices will be getting the new OS by the end of December 2013.

Mobile Syrup reports that their sources from LG Canada has said that Canadian LG G2 smartphones will be getting the Android 4.4 KitKat around March 2014.

In the beginning of this month, GSM Arena notes that it has seen a leaked roadmap of the French carrier SFR showing its LG G2 users will be getting the Android 4.4 KitKat update next month. As December begins next week, it’s very possible that LG G2 users under the SFR network will be getting the Android 4.4 KitKat update this soon.

Based on this latest news, it now looks like LG G2 is skipping the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update in favor of the 4.4 KitKat. At the moment, only the Nexus 5 is equipped with the 4.4 KitKat out of the box with the Moto G, the new budget-friendly handset from Motorola (a Google-owned company) is expected to release the new OS update to it’s Android 4.3-powered device “in the next few weeks.”
