Pokemon Global Link Beginning Shutdown December 10: Pokemon Bank Service For X And Y Preparing For December 27 Launch!

As Pokemon X and Y take over the Nintendo universe, fans that still play Black and White need to prepare for the impending Global Link shutdown this month.

According to the official Pokemon Global Link press release, the Dream World servers "will be closing completely on Tuesday, January 14, 2014."

The new Global Link for Pokemon X and Y is up and running, and to prepare for the incoming shutdown of the generation V servers, here's what you need to know.

According to Serebii, the next phase of the Global Link shutdown will begin December 10. From December 10 onward, players will no longer be able to put Pokemon to sleep, and will only be able to wake up your Pokemon one more time.

In addition, be sure to download any Pokemon or Items in the Dream World, as access will be cut off once you send your Pokemon back the last time.

Hopefully this will be a relatively easy process for Generation V fans now that X and Y are out.

And while the Black and White Global Link is shutting down, another Pokemon service is starting up this month!

The much talked about Pokemon Bank is gearing up for its launch December 27, and here is a reminder of all that you can do with the paid service.

This paid service allows players to store their Pokemon online, which can be accessed across different copies of X and Y! You can access your Pokemon anywhere, despite only having one save file on each Pokemon game.

The Pokemon service has an annual fee of $4.99, there will be a one-month free trial. Be aware that Items will not transfer with the Pokemon stored in the Bank.

Will you be using Pokemon Bank?
