Upcoming Sony Phones 2014: Xperia Compact Already Available For Pre-Order In Europe Days After It Was Announced

Days into the new year and we already see one of the most awaited upcoming Sony phones for 2014 - the Sony Xperia Compact, which is also dubbed the Xperia Z1 mini.

On Monday, Sony unveiled the device together with the T-Mobile bound variant which is the Xperia Z1s. But it looks like the Xperia Compact has already kicked off its pre-orer status in selected European markets.

In a report by Android Authority, the smaller Xperia Z1 phone will be available in the countries below, including its price and bundled discounts with the Sony Smartwatch or Wireless Headset.

  • France: €499 after €50 refund
  • Germany: €499 bundled with a €1 Sony Wireless Headset
  • Italy: €499 bundled with a €1 Sony Wireless Headset
  • Poland: PLN 1,999 bundled with a PLN 1 Sony Wireless Headset
  • Spain: €549 bundled with a €1 Sony Wireless Headset
  • Sweden: SEK 4,695 bundled with a SEK 1 Sony Wireless Headset
  • UK: £449 bundled with free Sony SmartWatch 2
  • The Japanese manufacturer has indeed come a long way in the tech industry, especially as it introduces the first 'mini' phone that does not sacrifice much of its bigger sibling. Aside from the smaller 4.3-inch display, 720p resolution, and smaller battery, the Xperia Compact boasts everything its bigger sibling has to offer.

We also notice that Sony is indeed concentrating on its target market aside from Japan, which is Europe. Late last year, Sony's CEO said in a statement that it plans to strengthen its market share in the said markets, leaving the US market behind for the meantime.

Let us all hope the Xperia Compact would arrive in the US not just exclusively to T-Mobile as the Xperia Z1s.
