Jake Gyllenhaal And Alyssa Miller Split Confirmed; 'Nightcrawler' Actor Reportedly Doesn't Want Long-Term Relationship Goals

Jake Gyllenhaal and Alyssa Miller have officially called it quits after six months of being together. Reports claim that the 'Brokeback Mountain' actor had to end his relationship with the Sports Illustrated model because of his work schedule.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Alyssa Miller started dating in June after meeting in a gym. Their happy days were not able to withstand the pressures that come with the ctor's film commitments. Conflicts reportedly started to arise when Gyllenhaal moved to Los Angeles, California to finish his upcoming thriller film 'Nightcrawler'.  

"They fizzled out. It happened a while ago before the holidays. He's back on the scene. Things were really good between Jake and Alyssa right up until he had to leave for LA to go shoot a movie in the fall. Then the distance just really got to them," says one source to Us Weekly.

However, another claim by a source states that Jake Gyllenhaal and Alyssa Miller's split took place because the actor did not want to settle down:"She's very much a long-term relationship girl. He's not as much of that mind-set."

Last October, Miller praised her then-beau for being a kitchen pro. The brunette beauty also mentioned that Gyllenhaal wooed her using his cooking skills: "Jake has taught me to cook some dishes."

Prior to Miller, the actor similarly had short-lived relationships with Reese Witherspoon, Minka Kelly, Kirsten Dunst and Taylor Swift.
