Upcoming Android Tablets 2014: Acer's Newest Slate Is A Cheaper iPad Mini With Android OS On-Board

The iPad mini 2 (Retina mini) has become the tablet to beat when it comes to design and aesthetics, and Acer may have wanted to add a slate to upcoming Android tablets in 2014 that will really make an impact.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the Acer Iconia A1-830.

Seen from afar, the Iconia A1-830 looks a lot like the iPad mini, especially when the front part. But make no mistake about it, it is a true blood Android tablet.

The Acer slate packs a sleek aluminum build that will certainly remind you of Apple's most priced iPad mini. Though as far as internals and display are concerned, they are two worlds apart.

The Iconia A1-830 boasts a 7.9-inch IPS screen with 1024 x 768 resolution, an Intel dual-core chip with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and an unconfirmed version of Android on shipment, though as long as it would eventually get KitKat there isn't a problem there.

Also on-board is a microSD card slot to allow storage expansion, and reportedly seven and a half hours of battery life.

With all the decent features, the Iconia A1-830 is certainly a great buy with a pricetag of only $150.

Will this budget Android tablet work for you?
