"Game of Thrones" season 4 premiere date is Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO. We once speculated that the premiere date would be Sunday, March 30, 2014, since "Game of Thrones" season 3 was released on the last Sunday of March. But it looks like in 2014, the "Game of Thrones" premiere date is being pushed back a week.

The official trailer for "GoT" season 4 will release this Sunday night, January 12, 2014, right before the premiere of "True Detective," Entertainment Weekly reports.

But EW also notes that "you might not have to wait that long to see at least some of it."
