Emma Roberts, Evan Peters Engagement Shocked Their Families; ‘American Horror Story’ Stars Families Only Found Out About The Union Through Paparazzi

Emma Roberts and Evan Peters' engagement not only surprised their fans but also their families. While many shared their best wishes for the 'American Horror Story' stars, 22-year-old Roberts must have forgotten to deliver the big news to her own family.

The blonde beauty's stepmother Eliza Roberts and her grandmother Lila Garrett were reportedly taken aback when approached by TMZ to offer their congratulatory messages. They were just leaving Il Buco in Beverly Hills last Tuesday when they found out about the engagement from the interviewee.

Prior to Emma Roberts and Evan Peters engagement, the 'Nancy Drew' actress has been arrested for domestic violence in Montreal. Authorities reportedly arrested Roberts after being notified by the hotel management that a commotion was coming from the room where the couple was staying in. When local police arrived, they saw Peters with a bloody nose as well as a bite mark.

"It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding. Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it," said the 'Wild Child's' representative.

Five months after, it appears that the couple has completely put the incident behind for they will now prepare to exchange their "I do". During their holiday vacation in New York, Peters asked the million-dollar question after presenting a pink gold diamond ring. The two then headed to London to have a more intimate celebration.

Roberts is yet to comment about the reaction of her seemingly confused family.
