Liam Payne Talks ‘Older Girlfriend’ Before Sophia Smith, Danielle Peazer: One Direction Singer Thought He Was ‘Really Cool’

Liam Payne has opened up about an older girlfriend he had before Sophia Smith and Danielle Peazer! Liam Payne revealed that he felt "really cool" dating an older girlfriend while in school - we hope Sophia Smith doesn't mind the One Direction singer talking about his past relationships.

"I had a girlfriend called Chanelle in reception, who used to send me love letters," Liam Payne said in a recent interview about his love life, MStarz reports.

"I was also really proud of the fact that I went out with a girl who was in Year Six when I was in Year Four," the One Direction singer admitted. "She was one of my sister's friends, and I thought I was really cool having an older girlfriend."

But that's not the only girl he dated in school - looks like Liam had quite a history before Sophia Smith and Danielle Peazer!

"I really liked one girl called Emily and asked her out 22 times, but she always said no. Finally I sang to her and then said she she'd go out with me, but she dumped me the next day," he explained. "My friends used to wind me up and pretend that girls liked me when they didn't, so I'd ask them out and they'd say no, which was mortifying."

Liam and Danielle started dating in October 2010, split in September 2012, then reunited a few months later. They broke up for good in May 2013. Liam is currently dating his childhood friend Sophia.

Liam and Sophia were recently spotted by a fan waiting in line at the movie theater in London's Westfield shopping center. The photo posted on Twitter here shows Sophia with her arms wrapped around Liam's waist, and the One Direction singer has his arm slung around his girlfriend.

The fan who saw them wrote on the Twitter account @International1D: "He wouldn't let go of her, he kept grabbing her and hugging her and kissing her... Didn't take his eyes off her"
