Android 4.4 KitKat Update Arriving Soon To Galaxy S4 As Firmware Build Leaks, Rumored For Handset's European Version

Launched back in April last year, the Samsung Galaxy S4 has long been waiting for the Android 4.4 KitKat update, and looks like owners will not be getting it any day from now.

In a report by GSM Arena, several firmware images were leaked just to give us a glimpse what the Samsung Galaxy S4 would look like wearing Android's latest version.

Certified leaker SamMobile provided the screencaps which would give us an idea how Samsung intends to update its current flagship's performance and visuals.

According to the report, the firmware test build of the Android 4.4 Kitkat update is aimed for the European version of the device. Once you see the screens, you will immediately notice a particular change of the notification icons from green to white, as per Android Kitkat standards.

In addition, there are a few tweaks in the camera app, including a fast access icon at the homescreen to be able to click away during life's precious moments.

Obviously, the minimal memory requirement of Kitkat led to the Galaxy S4 running faster and scoring better in benchmarks, according to Sam Mobile

In the report, the Android 4.4 Kitkat update is said to arrive to the Galaxy S4 handsets in Europe by mid February to March.
