NBA Trade Rumors - Kevin Love Wants Out Of Minnesota? Frustrated Star Calls Out Teammates After Loss

Kevin Love is one of the best NBA players, and he is naturally coveted by teams. He is the subject of NBA Trade Rumors because they believe he is 'attainable.'

Attainability is one big factor of being involved in trade rumors.  Nobody hears about Lebron James trade rumors even though everybody wants Lebron on their team. Most observers do not think there is a chance that James leaves Miami. Not even in free agency.

Kevin Love is frustrated. He has not even reached the playoffs despite his immense MVP level talent. This is his sixth season with Minnesota and it still looks like they are out of the picture.

His frustration has leaked out into the court when he publicly reprimanded his teammates after another frustrating loss. From ESPN:

"We can't have two guys sitting at the end of the bench that play good minutes just sitting there and not getting up during timeouts in the fourth quarter. We all need to be in this together. That kind of pisses me off. We're supposed to be a team."

The players in reference were JJ Barea and Dante Cunningham, who did not even bother to join the team huddle during a time out.

If Love is nitpicking his teammates, it could only mean that he's losing faith in their capability. A sentiment that is analyzed by CBS Sports Ken Berger who quoted an unnamed Eastern Conference executive:

"They should trade him. No one thinks he's staying. Everyone knows he wants to go to the Lakers."

Flip Saunders would strongly disagree, but what Berger accurately observes is that Saunders is in the hot seat:

"That opt-out is coming in July 2015 and will be a guiding force in every decision that the new GM, Saunders, makes between now and then. Essentially, Saunders will be faced with the same predicament that encumbered Masai Ujiri in Denver with Anthony; Otis Smith in Orlando with Howard; Kevin O'Connor in Utah with Williams; and, once upon a time, Danny Ferry in Cleveland with James.

It's worth noting that, of the aforementioned executives, only O'Connor in Utah is still running his team. Ujiri left by choice, and with a massive raise, to take over the Raptors. Smith and Ferry were fired."

If the T-Wolves fail this year, they will face the 2014-15 season the same way the Orlando Magic and the LA Lakers did with Dwight Howard's last season with them. Orlando suffered immensely but was able to salvage some useful assets for the not-so immediate future.  The Lakers went from championship favorite to a team in shambles in less than a year. Saunders can avoid all the tension if he trades Love this year (see this scenario) and he can hasten their rebuilding process, but it's similar to an admission that your team is a failure.
