Nina Dobrev Talks Ex Boyfriend Ian Somerhalder, Dating: ‘No Reason’ For ‘Awkward’ Tension After Break Up, ‘Vampire Diaries’ Actress Says

Nina Dobrev recently opened up about her ex boyfriend and "Vampire Diaries" co-star, Ian Somerhalder, and her current dating life. Nina Dobrev revealed that there is no awkward tension between her and ex boyfriend Ian Somerhalder, despite their break up.

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder took home the People's Choice Award for Favorite On-screen Chemistry for their roles as Elena and Damon on "The Vampire Diaries." During their acceptance speech, they joked about their real-life break up.

"What's more awkward is people's anticipation of it being awkward, and that's kind of why we made a joke of it," Nina Dobrev told  "Extra's" Mario Lopez.

The "Vampire Diaries" actress said that she and Ian have a good relationship. They dated for three years, before breaking up last summer.

"He's a great person and there's no reason to hate or cause problems," she said.

When asked if there was anyone special in her life at the moment, Nina responded, "Me!"

So is Nina currently choosing to stay single? "I'm not choosing to do anything. I'm just choosing to exist and see what happens," she said.

Mario then joked he would play matchmaker and asked what type of guy Nina likes.

"Well, that's the whole part of dating. I'm trying to figure it out," she laughed.

Meanwhile, Nina showed up at the 2014 Golden Globes Post-Party last night in Beverly Hills, wearing a bedazzled, off-shoulder Armani Privé gown that showed off major cleavage! The skin-tight black silk dress featured a sweetheart neckline and the bust was decorated with crystal embellishments.

Nina won't be able to stay single long looking like that!
