Upcoming Samsung Phones 2014: Up And Coming Galaxy S5 Rumored To Have Metal And Plastic Versions With Huge Price Differences, Tipped To Be Announced At The MWC

There have been lots of rumors surrounding upcoming Samsung phones for 2014, though the Galaxy S5 certainly overshadows them all at the moment. Now, a new report claims that the upcoming flagship may arrive in two versions - one with the usual plastic case, the other with a premium metal build.

In case this rumor pans out to be true, then Samsung will take another page from Apple's book. Later last year, the Cupertino company released two iPhones for the first time, one with the premium build and one with the plastic case. However, the iPhone 5c did not quite meet analyst expectations mainly because of its high pricetag.

In the case of Samsung, it has already proven that it can sell plastic flagships at such astonishing amounts, so a premium metal build will primarily be aimed at another market, probably that one which purchases iPhones.

And even if the price difference between the metal and plastic Galaxy S5's is around €150 or more, the Korean manufacturer is confident that its 'lower-priced' handset would still get the same treatment from consumers.

So, is this strategy of Samsung really helpful in the long-run? But first, we'll see if this rumor is actually true.
