Miami shot 57.7 percent while dealing Los Angeles a 109-102 loss Thursday, dropping the Lakers to 2-3 on this seven-game trip with six of the games being played on the East Coast.

"We really have to be better at communicating and get each other going and letting each other know where we're at," Pau Gasol, who had 22 points and 11 rebounds, told ESPN.com. "Let's see if we can do that for the rest of the trip and forward."

The pile of injuries are really starting to catch up with the Lakers as they fall further and further below .500. With Kobe Bryant (knee), Steve Nash (back), Steve Blake (elbow), Jordan Farmar (hamstring) and Xavier Henry (knee), all out, Gasol is averaging 22.0 points and 12.2 rebounds on 54.1 percent shooting over the past six games, while Jodi Meeks is scoring 18.5 per game in his last 10 after finishing with 22 on Thursday. Despite that, the Lakers continue to lose.

The Magic rallied from a 19-point deficit Wednesday against Atlanta to take a six-point lead in the fourth, putting them in position to pull off their greatest win of the season. Unfortunately for Orlando, it ended up losing 112-109.

"It's tough for us to make shots down the stretch," forward Tobias Harris, who had 19 points and 12 rebounds, told ESPN.com. "We had some good opportunities, we just couldn't convert."
