Free games for Xbox Live Gold members for January 2014 are "Sleeping Dogs" and "Lara Croft And The Guardian of Light," as posted on MajorNelson.com.
"Sleeping Dogs" was released as the first from the two free games for Xbox Live Gold members this January. Particularly, it was available without any cost from January 1 until the 15th.
On January 16, it was replaced by the second free game for Xbox Live Gold members called "Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light." Gold subscribers can download the platform action video game for free only until January.
As posted on its Wikipedia page, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light was developed by Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix. In addition to Xbox 360, the game is also available for Microsoft PC, PS3 and iOS platforms.
The free games for Xbox Live Gold members are under Microsoft's promotion called "Games With Gold." Particularly, it offers two free games for Xbox Live Gold members every month. The first title will be available every 1st of the month, and it will then be replaced by the second one on the 16th.
Moreover, fans can expect better titles to come for free under Games With Gold program. Responding on a Twitter inquiry, Microsoft's Phil Spencer shared that he feels good with the upcoming free games for Xbox Live Gold members for the first half of the year.
