Pirates Of The Caribbean 5 Star Johnny Depp Engagement With Amber Heard Surprised Everybody But Not His Ex-Partner Vanessa Paradis
Pirates of the Caribbean 5 star Johnny Depp engagement to her much younger girlfriend Amber Heard shocked everyone, but not her ex-partner and the mother of her two wonderful kids, Vanessa Paradis.
Apparently, the 50-year old actor asked Vanessa for her blessing, calling her and telling her that he had proposed to the 27-year old actress, according to Us Weekly.
Vanessa who's the mother of Depp's two children - Lily Rose, 14, and Jack, 11 - is happy for the "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" star.
"There's no drama. Vanessa wished him happiness," added by Us Weekly.
The 41-year old French model and actress has already moved on from Depp and is now in a relationship with French pop star Benjamin Biolay.
"She 's not bitter. She's happy," according to the insider.
Depp and Heard started dating on June 2012 following the actor's announcement of his split from long-time partner and mother of his two kids Vanessa Paradis. The newly engaged couple met on the set of "The Rum Diaries" on 2010.
It has been revealed that the couple are already been engaged for some time already.
"The proposal happened a while ago," a source told Us Weekly.
"She just didn't wear the ring."
As she left West Hollywood's Ago Restaurant last week, Amber revealed her beautiful ring - a large single emerald or princess cut stone in an elaborate platinum setting.
The actress even attempted to cover the ring, however she showed it to the world as she pushed her hair out her eyes.
"Of course they couldn't be happier to be engaged and excited to share the rest of their lives together," a source tells PEOPLE, adding that Heard has "told close friends" the news.
"Amber has really taken well to the kids and really enjoys spending time with them. And she's even taken Lily shopping on her own for some bonding time."
The Rum Diary star was with a female friend enjoying a night out following a weekend full of glitzy affairs.
Pirates of the Caribbean 5 star Johnny Depp and his fiancée attended the Art of Elysium's Heave Gala in Los Angeles, making it the first public official appearance of the two as a couple.
