The Wanted Breaks Up Over Personal Issues? Max George, Nathan Sykes Now Solo Artists!

The Wanted has already confirmed their break up for the meantime but new developments came in with the announcement of Max George and Nathan Sykes about their plans to become solo artists.

Max George, in an interview with the Sun on Sunday that the band members have been dealing with "a lot of tension," adding that "our personal lives drove us apart."

After four years of being together and releasing three albums, the hunky singer explained their breakup: "We used to be such a brotherly pact, but it started to feel like it wasn't The Wanted anymore."

Things came to a head when Scooter Braun, the manager of The Wanted and also Justin Bieber, pointedly asked them a question what they want to do after their "Word of Mouth" tour.

That's when Max George and Nathan Sykes told the others that they wanted to be solo artists, even if the other band members, Siva Kanesawaran, Tom Parker and JayMcGuinness were opposed to the idea.

Max George understands that their decision was "upsetting" to some of the guys but at the end of the day, he has to live his life. "Me and Nathan have been just as loyal to this project as anyone else - sometimes you just have to be realistic," he said.

Last week, Tom Parker wrote on his Twitter account: "Just want to say...It's a break, not the end. You can't get rid of us that easily haha! x,"

The Wanted's official website also earlier released a statement regarding the break up.

"Tom, Max, Jay, Siva and Nathan have collectively decided to take time to pursue personal endeavours following the tour's conclusion.

"The band wants to stress to their fans that they will continue on as The Wanted and look forward to many successful projects together in the future.

"They thank their fans for their continued love and support and look forward to seeing them on tour."

According to TMZ which cited "sources close to the group," both Max George and Nathan Sykes "have already started solo projects ... and we're told Nathan decided he wanted out after collaborating with Ariana Grande on "'Almost Is Never Enough.'"

While tagged as only temporary, there was no word on how long The Wanted's break up would be.
