Grammys 2014: Macklemore On Kendrick Lamar – ‘You Got Robbed’! Grammys Best Rap Album Winner Sends Apologetic Text To ‘Now Or Never’ Rapper!

Grammys 2014 may have already ended. But, news about what happened that night still continue to dominate social media sites including Grammys 2014 Best Rap Album winner Macklemore and his message to pal rapper Kendrick Lamar.

Macklemore took home 4 Grammy awards. However, there's one award that Macklemore believes belongs to his friend Lamar - Grammys 2014 Best Rap Album.

On Jan. 26, Macklemore posted a picture on Instagram and shared it on Twitter showing his text message to the 'Now or Never' rapper.

Macklemore tweeted, "My text to Kendrick after the show" with a screenshot of the rapper's text message.

Macklemore's Instagram screenshot of the text message reads:

"You got robbed. I wanted you to win. You should have. It's weird and sucks that I robbed you. I as gonna say that during the speech. Then, the music started playing during my speech and I froze. Anyway, you know what it is. Congrats on this year and your music. Appeciate you as an artist and as a friend."

The Instagram post also contains a caption with Macklemore saying, "My text to Kendrick after the show. He deserved best rap album... I'm honored and completely blown away to win anything much less 4 Grammys. But in this category, he should have won IMO. And that's taking nothing away from The Heist. Just giving GKMC it's proper respect. With that being said, thank you to the fans. You're the reason we were on that stage tonight. And, to play Same Love on that platform was a career highlight. The greatest honor of all. That's what this is about. Progress and art. Thank you #grammys"

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis got seven Grammy nominations and won four out of the seven namely: Best New Artist, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best New Artist. The two also performed their song "Same Long" single together with Madonna, Mary Lambert, and Queen Latifa.
