‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 5 Spoilers: Caroline And Tyler Get Back Together? Or Is Klaus Still In The Picture?

In a new sneak peek clip, spoilers reveal that Tyler returns to Mystic Falls in "Vampire Diaries" season 5, episode 12!

According to Hollywood Life, Tyler casually tries to ask Matt if he invited Caroline to his party in the spoiler clip, but Matt cuts to the case: "So when you say you're starting over, you're basically saying you want Caroline back?" Matt asks.

"Just get the cups," Tyler replies cryptically.

The CW's episode synopsis also hints at a spoiler that Caroline will have to face Tyler soon: "Matt impulsively decides to throw a party, where Caroline makes a stunning confession to Elena (Nina Dobrev), then has to face the consequence of her actions with Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Tyler."

Julie Plec told E! Online that it won't be easy for Tyler to fit into the Mystic Falls life again.

"He's going to struggle," Plec said. "He's back, his revenge attempt failed, he doesn't really know what he's supposed to be doing with himself. He's not in college, he split with Caroline, Matt Donovan is living in his house. [Laughs.] So it's a journey for him to find his way."

And what about Klaus? Will he get in the way of Caroline and Tyler's reunion?

Spoiler alert: Caroline and Klaus' hook up was a "one time affair," according to E! News. Plec assures fans that Klaus and Caroline's hookup in the woods was closure for their relationship.

"It felt like we've never been able to, because of the spin-off, fully deliver on what the next layer of their story would be," Plec said. "And it was always in our minds to figure out a way to pay that off and the 100th episode seemed like the most appropriate time to do it."

"Also, in a way, Caroline's journey on The Vampire Diaries this year has been she's got a lot of opinions and she's very open and honest about her feelings about Elena's feelings for Damon, and I think this is a way of making herself look in the mirror and say,  'Oh gosh, I understand now,'" Plec continued.
