Liam Payne posted a video to YouTube, explaining the idea and process of making the "Midnight Memories" music video with his One Direction band mates.

"Our next single is going to be 'Midnight Memories,' which is one of the ones I wrote with Louis [Tomlinson]," Payne said on 1D's official YouTube channel in a video posted on Tuesday, January 28.

"This is the first song we wrote on the album, so it kind of paved the way for the whole album's sound and the way it all changed," Payne explained. "It's all about the midnight memories, everybody's got 'em, so I hope you enjoy it."

According to the Latin Post, the "Midnight Memories" album, which released in November 2013, made One Direction the first band ever to have their first three albums debut at No. 1 in the U.S. Billboard chart. The album also reached No. 1 in 30 other countries around the world and achieved the biggest pre-order in iTunes history. Additionally, "Midnight Memories" was the best-selling album of 2013 in the U.K., with the highest week-one sales in three years.

One Direction's "Midnight Memories" music video will release this Friday, January 31.
