The Oilers broke out offensively in their last two contests after recording 12 goals during the recent six-game skid. Perron leads the team with a career-high 22 goals, five of which have come in the last five contests, according to NHL.com.

"I try to bring my best game every night," he said. "We have to learn from the way we are playing (now). That's the way we need to play, and we're going to get a lot of points as a team if we do that."

"It's good to get some sunlight into the cave once in a while," forward Jesse Joensuu, who also scored, said in the Edmonton Sun. "I think the last game obviously helped. I think overall our look was better than what it has been this season. I thought we deserved to win against these guys."

San Jose won six in a row before being shutout 1-0 against the Kings on Monday. The Sharks come into this game looking for a season-high fourth consecutive road victory.

"That's just the way it goes," forward Bracken Kearns said. "You've got to find a way in those (tight) games."

Niemi has won his past four starts and his 27 wins rank second in the NHL behind only Marc-Andre Fleury of the Pittsburgh Penguins, according to NHL.com. Alex Stalock broke the franchise record Monday with a scoreless streak of 178 minutes, 55 seconds, even though the Sharks went on to lose 1-0 to the Los Angeles Kings.

"Alex was real good," McLellan said. "Excellent experience for him tonight playing against that team, to fight through their size and their strength around the net, their deflections. It was very solid and we're very happy with him."
