Winnipeg lost 4-3 to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night after overcoming deficits of 1-0 and 3-1. It was just their second loss under Paul Maurice, who is 6-2-0 since being name coach on Jan. 12, according to NHL.com.

"Obviously it wasn't the result we wanted, but I think you saw that we battled hard for each other and we never gave up," forward Mark Scheifele, who had a goal and an assist, said after practice Wednesday. "That game's over now and all we can do is focus on what we can do versus Vancouver."

The Jets have not lost two games in a row in three weeks and look to avoid that on Thursday against the Canucks.

"Obviously a hard-working team. They play good defense," defenseman Zach Bogosian said. "When they have guys like the Sedin brothers, you definitely have to be aware. It's going to be a good game. They have a good all-around team. It will be a good challenge for us. They are a good team. We just have to make sure we are competing just like we did last game."

The Canucks might have thought they were going to get a huge win against the defending Stanley Cup champions, but allowed five goals and didn't score any.

"We've got to play 60 minutes against teams like that," said Roberto Luongo, who has allowed 11 goals in his last three starts. "I think when we have the puck we have to start believing in what we're doing."
