Upcoming Samsung Phones 2014: 'Lite' Version Of Galaxy Note 3 Unveiled, Packs 5.5" Display, Quad-Core Or Hexa-Core Chip, 8MP Camera, Full S-Pen Support

It was December when we first heard of one of the upcoming Samsung phones for 2014, and then it was only called the Galaxy Note 3 'lite' version. Only recently that we have come to know that it would be named Neo. 

In a recent report, the Korean manufacturer has quietly launched the device as stated in a press release in Samsung Poland. 

According to Android Authority, the Note 3 Neo will offer most of the feature that its bigger and more expensive sibling has including Air Command, Multi-Window, S-Note, and most of the S Pen functions which is certainly a neat addition. 

Design-wise, one could easily identify the Galaxy Note 3 Neo as the original Galaxy Note 3 because of the similar dimensions, as well as the faux black leather casing at the back. 

However, getting a peak through its internal specs would certainly spell the difference. 

The Galaxy Note 3 Neo boasts a smaller 5.5" display with only 720p resolution, whereas the bigger sibling has a 5.7-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) screen. The Note 3 Neo also has 2GB of RAM, and either a hexa-core CPU with four Cortex-A7 cores clocked at 1.3GHz and two 1.7GHz Cortex-A15 cores, or an unnamed quad-core chipset. 

The hexa-core goes to the LTE+ version while the quad-core chipset will be for the 3G variant. 

Other notable specs include an 8MP primary camera, 16GB of internal memory, a 3,100mAh battery and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box with a probable update to KitKat in the future.
