Upcoming Nokia Phones 2014: Why The Android-Powered Normandy Is A Great 'Final' Move By Nokia

If you are a fan of upcoming Nokia phones for 2014, you may have already read about the Nokia X, which has been under the name Normandy in the past months.

Recently, the phone has been seen and leaked in various websites and blogs. It even appeared in a Chinese retailer website, further cementing speculations of its impending release.

But if the Normany would be running on Android 4.4 KitKat, why did Microsoft allow it?

For the past years, fans, consumers and even industry watchers have wished Nokia had chosen Android rather than Windows Phone. But whether the Elop controversy is true or not, no one can change it.

That is why there has been a lot of excitement when rumors spread that the Finnish company is finally making an Android handset.

The Nokia X may be the answer to all our prayers, but unfortunately, it is highly possible that this phone is Nokia's 'farewell' phone in the mobile competition. Microsoft allowed the phone maker to launch an Android phone, but it apparently did not allow Google Play access as some rumors point out.

The Nokia X, or Normandy, as it turns out, will just be a glimpse of what Nokia could have obtained if it has picked Google's platform.
