Upcoming HTC Phones 2014: See What The One M8's On-Screen Buttons Look Like

There has been lots of news about one of the upcoming HTC phones for 2014, the One M8. In a new report, a leaked image allegedly shows how the flagship's on-screen buttons look like.

Last week, we heard reports that the Taiwanese manufacturer is finally leaving the capacitive buttons which have graced its previous handsets and move on to on-screen buttons.

To begin the week, it is just fitting to see what these on-screen buttons look like, and whether they are really something to be proud of.

In an image spotted on China's microblogging platform Weibo, we see three versions of the buttons of past HTC devices as they are compared to an alleged appearance of the HTC One M8's own.

First thing we notice here is that the buttons are much brighter compared to the buttons of the previous HTC flagships. However, we should take note that these capacitive buttons still get fairly bright lighting even if the screen's brightness is less than 50%.

Which brings us to the possible problem. If the on-screen buttons have the same level of brightness as the entire screen, there may be situations when these buttons may not light enough.

Of course HTC may have already addressed that issue, which makes us even more excited of the upcoming HTC One 2 M8. Previous rumors point to a 5-inch screen with 1080p resolution, Snapdragon 800 chipset, and an UltraPixel snapper with 6-8MP of resolution.
