Upcoming Nokia Phones 2014: Android-Powered Nokia X Will Be Part Of Asha Family, Would Be Launched In March

With the popularity the Nokia X has been getting lately, one would expect it to be flagship device. Unfortunately, it is not.

In previous reports and leaks, the Android-powered device has been confirmed to fall in the lower midrange category. Some reports even compared it to the highly-popular Lumia 520, though one major difference is their mobile platform.

Now, a new report says the Nokia X will join the Asha lineup of Nokia.

According to a report by GSM Arena, a Nokia India executive allegedly confirmed that the company's first Android device will be a part of Nokia's midrange lineup of Windows Phone-powered handsets. Considering the handset's potential pricing and appearance, that may not be a surprise at all.

Dubbed as the Normandy, the phone is reported to boast a 4-inch WVGA screen, a dual-core chipset clocked at 1.2GHz, and 512MB of RAM which confirms its entry-level to low-midrange status.

Other specs which have already been reported and confirmed include a 5-megapixel camera, 4GB of internal memory with an option for microSD storage expansion, and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

So are you looking forward for a Nokia-made Android phone?
