Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Date Could Be During Company's Unpacked Event At MWC, Suggests Press Invite Details

There has been a number of Samsung Galaxy S5 release date rumors circling the Web for the past weeks, some of which include a release date at the CES event, an alleged launch as mentioned by the company's VP herself, and a release as late as April.

However, this could be one of the more solid reasons why we would expect the Galaxy S5 during the MWC in Barcelona.

In a report by GSM Arena, Samsung has recently sent invites to its Unpacked press event at the start of the Mobile World Congress. Aside from the general details of the event which includes the time, date and place, another detail has captured our attention.

The name of Samsung's press event, Unpacked, has a superscript of the number 5. This could simply give away that the press event will feature the company's new flagship device, the Galaxy S5.

On the other hand, the number could have just meant that this is Samsung's fifth Unpacked event. Formerly known as the 3GSM World which has been held in Cannes up until 2006, the first Mobile World Congress was held in 2009 in Barcelona.

If you are expecting the Galaxy S5, some rumors include a 2K display, a 16MP primary camera, Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box, and a fingerprint scanner.
