NBA Trade Rumors: Rajon Rondo Is Top Trade Target! Pistons' Greg Monroe The Best Offer? Who Else Will Bid For Celtics Captain?

Rajon Rondo is the King Of NBA Trade Rumors. That can be a positive thing, as long as your team does not agree with it. Will the Pistons offer Greg Monroe, and is that the best offer the Celtics can get?

Rondo is the player most often mentioned in trade rumors. NESN released the numbers from HoopsHype: "In fact, there are two such lists, and the Celtics are No. 1 on both. Rajon Rondo takes the top spot among players with 13 "rumors mentioned," while the Celtics lead the way among teams with 26 "rumors mentioned," according HoopsHype, a USA Today-owned basketball site."

Who are the players rumored to be offered for Rondo? The most logical choice was Greg Monroe. He is a rising star of less value now, but he is a skilled big man which is a rarity in the league. The Pistons definitely need a more solid point guard than Brandon Jennings, and the Celtics would like Monroe, although they would ask for more, like a first round pick.

Greg Monroe is not exactly being 'shopped.' Detroit wants to keep him, the only hitch being the bad chemistry between him, Josh Smith and Andre Drummond. Among the three, he is considered as the most "tradeable" since Andre Drummond has been deemed as the Pistons' center for the future.

The Pistons can afford to keep Monroe, and they intend to sell high. From the Detroit Free Press: "If a high-level player like Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo becomes available, would the Pistons consider it? Absolutely.

But will they trade Monroe just to add a needed shooter or solid player that isn't a game-changer? Highly unlikely."

It is possible that the Pistons can simply get a shooter/scorer in free agency as they have expiring contracts. However, that will not solve the logjam at the frontline position.  Would there be any takers for Josh Smith? Can they eventually work it out?

What about Rajon Rondo? Who are the other suitors? Danny Ainge won't tell us. He did mention something to Masslive: "I think everybody's just sort of fishing right now. I don't think that they're anticipating anything happening. And this is the time of the year where everyone is just sort of putting their toe in the water and getting started.

"I don't know the answer to (what the value is) with any of our players right now. I don't know what the value is of each guy or what somebody may get. It only takes one team to do a deal -- or two teams to do a deal, with one other team. But there will be a lot of conversation I think over the next few weeks about a lot of players around the league."

Rondo is starting to pick up his game. His trade value increases as well. Watch out for a Rondo trade right before the deadline, and Kpopstarz will be on it.
