Galaxy Gear Smartwatch Gets Huge Price Cut, Next-Gen Samsung Smarwatch Probably Under Way

The Galaxy Gear smartwatch was not that popular when it first launched, and its steep price certainly did not help. Now, a report says the Samsung smartwatch is now cheaper than ever.  

According to a report by GSM Arena, Samsung India has just provided a huge price cut off the Galaxy Gear, bringing it down from Rs.22,290 or about $356, down to only Rs.15,290 or just $244. 

While there are no official announcements yet regarding the discount, reports are coming in that the discount is not exclusive to the Indian market. 

What does this mean?

One probable reason is that the new generation Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatch might get launched at the MWC later this month. 

So, what would it be? A cheaper Galaxy Gear, or a more expensive one but with better functions?
