Los Angeles Lakers Manny Harris Drops 19 Points After Being Told By Team He’ll Be Cut; Did The Management Changed Their Mind?

The Los Angeles Lakers is having one of its worst seasons in its history. They are currently the worst team in the Western Conference, which its fans say because of the loss of key players. The Hollywood-based team tries to get by by signing 'no namers.'

For players who have not been getting a contract or have been travelling a lot in the league, getting a chance to play for a struggling team is a 'great' gift. Sure they are just small contracts (a proud team like Lakers would always look for a star). Still, you would relish every minutes you get. And when the time comes that your contract ends, you'll do everything to prove that you are worth extending, like Manny Harris.

The 24-year old guard was taken by the Lakers from their D-League affiliate team Los Angeles D-Fenders. In his short stint with the 16-time NBA Champion, he somehow turned heads, especially in his last game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Prior to the game, the 2010 undrafted player was told by the management that his 210 days contract will not be extended. Despite that, he gave his best.

Harris dropped 19 points during the road game and grabbed on 8-of-11 shooting and grabbing eight rebounds on a losing cause, the first time he hit that mark since April of 2012.

"Not knowing whether you're going to stay or you're going to go, you're kind of scared to make mistakes," Harris said of his good game.

"It's always better when you know either you're going to stay or you're going to leave. It's always better."

Did the Lakers management pay off his good showing? Unfortunately, no. The decision was final but Harris took it in stride. He even thanked Lakers fans his Instagram account, 313manny5resh for giving him a chance to showcase his skills through.

313manny5resh: I would like to thank the lakers for giving me a opportunity to be back at the Highest Level! Didn't end like I wanted but I understand it's how the game go! #GreatOrganization #GreatFans #GrindDontStop #OnToTheNext
