Matt Hendricks scored for the Oilers short-handed in the third period victory over the Sabres. The center is known for his defensive play, but he has two goals in nine games since being acquired in a trade with Nashville earlier this month. He had only two goals in 44 games prior to the deal, according to ESPN.com.
"He's preaching all the stuff that we need here," coach Dallas Eakins said. "He's been a good penalty-killer for us, but definitely a guy that's very vocal. I think a lot of our guys need to be listening to that because he certainly knows what he's talking about."
