"It's the Canadiens against the Canucks, two teams involved in playoff races," Canadiens coach Michel Therrien said Wednesday. "I don't see this as a showdown to see who will be the starting goaltender for the Canadian team. Absolutely not."

Vancouver is trying to avoid losing a six-game losing streak as it continues to struggle to put the puck in the back of the net, scoring one goal in its last two games.

Henrik Sedin hasn't scored a point in six games, while his brother Daniel, hasn't scored in his last seven.

"Me and Danny have got to step up and score goals," Henrik Sedin said. "That's No. 1. That's the difference right now. We've got to be the difference-makers and we're not right now."

With the Winter Olympics a few days away, the playoff-picture becomes the focal point of the final stretch of the season. Montreal is tied for the fourth-most points in the Eastern Conference but just five clear of being on the outside, looking in.

"It's a pretty critical part of the year for us, we're obviously battling for that (playoff) spot," Price told the NHL's official website. "Every game from here on out is important."

Injury report, according to NHL.com:

"Canucks forwards Henrik Sedin (bruised ribs), Mike Santorelli (season-ending shoulder surgery) and Brad Richardson (undisclosed) and defensemen Kevin Bieksa (foot), Christopher Tanev (thumb), Yannick Weber (undisclosed) and Andrew Alberts (head) are out. Defenseman Dan Hamhuis and forward Christopher Higgins missed Tuesday's game against the Bruins with undisclosed injuries and are questionable against the Canadiens. ... The Canadiens are without defenseman Davis Drewiske (shoulder), and forwards Alex Galchenyuk (hand) and Travis Moen (lower body)."
