Jennifer Lopez inStyle Cover Girl: Jenny From The Block Is The Same Girl; Jennifer Lopez Is Optimistic About Mature Roles For Women

Jennifer Lopez inStyle cover: Jennifer Lopez graced the cover of the April issue of InStyle magazine.

Covergirl Jennifer Lopez, the ever-optimistic star, is still Jenny From The Block, just a little older, but no less glamourous.

Jennifer Lopez told InStyle "I feel like I felt when I was 28. My bones don't hurt. I feel great. I actually feel better, more confident. Of course I still have the nerves, but now I know how to control them. When I was in my twenties, I wasn't sure of myself. Now I can really stretch. I don't have to stay in the box. At this point I can say to myself, 'So what if I fall, so what?' I'm going to get back up."

Jennifer Lopez currently stars as a judge in the blockbuster Fox singing competition show "American Idol." Jennifer Lopez is returning to episodic TV following her 1994 series regular role on TV series "Second Chances."

Speaking to the new edition of America's InStyle magazine, Jennifer Lopez says Hollywood is giving second chances to older actresses they might have written off just a few years ago. She said: "The turning point was a couple of years ago when the September issue of women's magazines had cover girls who were all over 40 - Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts, me. It was hard not to be happy. That says something about our society. People used to believe their life - or at least their life as a performer - was over at 28 or some ungodly age! God, when I think of myself back then, I had no idea who I was. I think I'm barely getting that under control now."

The "American Idol" talked about her love life. JLo admitted "Look, I don't love being alone. I don't. I can't beat myself up for that. What I have to do is figure out why I don't like it. Why am I not OK being alone? And can I ever be OK facing that? In the past, love for me has always meant forever, and sure, you still nurse some of those fantasies, but I don't try to force it anymore. I hung on to my fairy-tale ideals for a long time. But where I am now, what I've been through, there are no rules. There are just lots of ways it can turn out instead of just one. There are so many different kinds of happiness, not just the one you learned about when you were five years old."
JLo is about to drop her 10th studio album. She also head of her own clothing empire for Kohls.
