Upcoming Sony Phones 2014: Xperia Z2 Beats HTC One (M8) In Graphics-Extensive Benchmark, Samsung Galaxy S5 Expected To Top The Chart Soon

Upcoming Sony phones 2014: Yesterday, two benchmarks crowned the HTC One (M8) as their top handset in terms of overall everyday performance, and graphical performance. But it looks like the HTC flagship would only hold on to just one after today.

According to a report by GSM Arena, Sony's newest flagship device, the Xperia Z2 has managed to notch first honors for the Basemark OS II graphics benchmark. And while both devices have the same chipset, the Sony flagship gets a 2.5GHz processor, while the international version of the One only has 2.3GHz.

As far as browsing goes, the Xperia Z2 is also not far behind, though it only managed a seventh place finish, just under its older sibling, the Xperia Z1.

However, the report points out that neither the HTC One (M8) nor the Xperia Z2 are already available in the market at the time of the benchmark, so we may still see some changes and tweaks in the future after software updates.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S5 has not yet undergone both benchmarks which the One (M8) and the Z2 took, and from the looks of it, it is pegged to take the crown from both devices (overall performance and graphics-intensive tasks) when it does.

So what do you think about these three flagships? Do you agree that there is no competition if you lineup them up with Oppo's Find 7 super smartphone with QHD display, Snapdragon 801 chipset, and 13MP camera that can save 50MP resolution images?
