‘Diablo 3’ Xbox One Version Currently In Development But Blizzard Not Yet Confirming The Release For Microsoft Console; Playable Demo For PS4 Available At PAX East 2014

Blizzard recently revealed the Diablo 3 for Xbox One is currently in the works.

According to a post on Gamespot, Diablo III is now being developed for Xbox One, together with the previously announced PS4 version of the game. However, Blizzard Entertainment cannot confirm yet whether the Diablo 3 Xbox One version will ever be released.

The game developer told to Videogamer:

I don't know where we are with Microsoft right now so I can't really comment on what that contract looks like. The point is we are developing for Xbox [One] and PS4 simultaneously. We hit those major platforms and then our goal as a development team is to make them run.

Moreover, the lead producer of the game, Alex Mayberry shared that it "makes more sense" to create the game concurrently for the Xbox One and PS4, even though a release for the Microsoft console is not yet definite.

Mayberry said, "We have that pipeline worked out. We've already done it with the 360 and PS3, so that team knows how to develop at the same time for both of those platforms. That's just what we do. And then Blizzard and Microsoft can work out whatever they work out."

Meanwhile, "Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls," the first expansion for the action role-playing video game is now available for Windows and Mac for $39.99. The full game, together with the expansion will also hit the PlayStation 4, but release date has not been announced yet. Furthermore, the PS4 version will have exlusive features, according to Polygon.

For fans who cannot wait for the PS4 version of the game, a playable version of Diablo 3 PS4 will be available at Blizzard's booth during the PAX East event set to happen from April 11-13 in Boston.
