New Female Characters For Sherlock Season 4, Teases Steven Moffat [SPOILERS]: Will Irene Adler Return Along Molly Hooper And Mrs. Hudson During 2016 Release Air Date?

As fans await "Sherlock" season 4, Steven Moffat provided some spoilers regarding some fresh new faces along with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.

In addition to a rough 2016 air date, "Sherlock" season 4 will see the return of Moriarty, played by Andrew Scott.

But for those of you who want a stronger female presence on "Sherlock," season 4 will reportedly increase the roles for female characters Molly Hooper and Mrs. Hudson, played by Louise Brealey and Una Stubbs, respectively.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Steven Moffat also hinted that new female character could be added, to aid "Sherlock's gradual humanization."

It is likely that Mary Morsten, played by Amanda Abbington will return during "Sherlock" season 4, but what about Irene Adler?

"It's not impossible, because she's still alive and out there," answered Steven Moffat according to TVLine.

"But I was really, really pleased with [Season 2's Irene-centric] 'A Scandal in Belgravia,' and that sense of longing between those two characters. The question is, can you do it again without making it less good? Are sequels ever as good? Do you really make more money or do you debase the coinage? If we had as good a story as 'Scandal' and somewhere else to take them, we'd do it again. But, in the meantime, we're thrilled with that episode and wary of touching it again. There are many other stories tell."

Given that "Sherlock" season 4 and 5 are already being planned by Moffat and his team, do you think these quotes hint at spoilers for future episodes?
