Dale Weise and Francis Bouillon scored for the Canadiens in the overtime loss last night. The Habs were guaranteed to face the Lightning in the first round of the playoffs when the Detroit Red Wings lost in a shootout to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

"I thought the guys competed hard. We did a lot of good things out there," defenseman Josh Gorges told NHL.com. "We lost focus a couple of shifts where we made some mistakes and lost some coverage, and that's the difference. That just shows how quick a game can turn."

With being way out of the playoff picture for quite some time, Islanders head coach Jack Capuano has gotten a long look at the Islanders' youngsters, as 11 rookies currently are on the roster.

"They are playing hard," Capuano told ESPN.com. "When we get our team back next year and play the way we can play, I think we can make a push and get back to the dance."

Injury report, according to NHL.com:

"New York will be without forwards John Tavares (knee), Kyle Okposo (lower body) and defensemen Lubomir Visnovsky (concussion) and Brian Strait (hand). Forwards Michael Grabner (upper body) and Cal Clutterbuck (upper body) and defenseman Calvin de Haan (lower body) are questionable. ... Montreal is expected to be without forwards Galchenyuk, Travis Moen (concussion) and Brandon Prust (upper body). Center Lars Eller (flu) missed the game Wednesday."
