Futuristic Indie Thriller `Cigarette Girl’ Comes to DVD; Don’t Get Caught in the Smoking Section Without a Match

Cigarette Girl kicks butt after quitting butts. The hero of the new anti-anti-smoking film quit cigarettes after her grandmother died of emphysema and now supplies cut-rate tobacco in the Smoking Section of town.

Archer Records, in partnership with Mike McCarthy of Guerrilla Monster Films, announced that McCarthy's 2009 film Cigarette Girl will be available for the first time on DVD and digital streaming services worldwide on May 20, 2014.

Cigarette Girl got some notice after a short run of regional screenings in 2009, but it got caught up in the ash trays of distribution problems until early this year. Archer Records remastered Cigarette Girl in 5.1 surround sound and stereo and all DVD orders will come with a CD of the original motion picture score by Jonathan Kirkscey.

Cigarette Girl takes place in 2035. Smoking is illegal. You can't step outside for a smoke anymore. To feed your habit you have to go to a dystopian, dangerous, nicotine-stained Smoking Section. Cigarette Girl sells loosies on the streets, and they cost less than the smokes sold by The Vice Lord, who wants to stub her out.

The Limited Edition Package of Cigarette Girls contains an autographed DVD copy of Cigarette Girl in 5.1 surround sound and stereo; A CD of the original motion picture score by Jonathan Kirkscey and Director's Commentary by Mike McCarthy. With online bonus features like behind the scenes production photos, sketchbook art from director Mike McCarthy and short films featuring the stars of Cigarette Girl.

Dials plays Cigarette Girl. Cigarette Girl stars also stars Helen Bowman as Grandma and Lary Love Dolley as Hat Check Girl.
