Stoke City will face off against rival Newcastle United on Saturday, placing two of the English Premier League's closely followed teams against each other.

Stoke City, coming out of a 3-0 loss to Chelsea, is expected to be the favorite in the match.

Stoke City Manager Mark Hughes said the team's recent loss is a wake-up, Goal.com reports. 

"I was disappointed with what we produced. It's a wake-up call to us. For weeks and weeks we've been a lot better than that but for whatever reason we didn't have enough players playing at their maximum today," Hughes said, according to the site.

"In the end we weren't able to ask enough questions of a good Chelsea team and they didn't have to get out of second or third gear to take the game away from us."

Newcastle United, coming out of a 4-0 loss to Manchester United, is expected to be the underdog in the match.

Newcastle United Manager Alan Pardew said criticism won't affect his team's run-in, Sky Sports reports. 

"I accept the criticism that's coming my way, of course, but that doesn't weaken me in any manner," he said, according to the site.

"I am a person who looks to the next game - I am desperate to get the fans a result and they need to know that I understand their feelings at the minute."
