Install Official Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update On AT&T LG G2; New Firmware Addresses Issues On Google Wallet And Google+

Users of AT&T LG G2 can now install the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.

According to a post on Android Pit, the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the AT&T LG G2 is a "tiny sub-6 MB" file. The 5.99 Mb update file for the new Android 4.4.2 KItkat update brings in fixes for issues found on Google+ and Google Wallet. Reportedly, the Tap and Pay issue experienced in Google Wallet should be resolved after installing the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.

 However, as reported on Android Geeks, AT&T LG G2 users who are still running Jelly Bean will get a 679 MB update file that can only be downloaded through Wifi.  This update was released February 23 for AT&T LG G2 (D800), bringing in several improvements for the device. Aside from Google Wallet and Google+ updates, this huge update will also bring in KitKat features such as "white icons in the status bar, transparent status and nav bars, emoji support, cloud printing, immersive mode, or full screen album art in the lockscrenen, along with improvements to Exchange Active Sync (EAS), SMS & MMS messaging and some more AT&T bloatware (Famigo, ISIS Mobile Wallet, Beats Music)."

Below is the detailed process on how to update AT&T LG G2 with Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware, as posted on the network's support page:

1. Connect to a Wi-Fi network. 

2. From the home screen, press the Menu key, and then tap All settings.

3. From the "General" tab, scroll to and tap About phone.

4. Tap Software update.

5. Tap Update now.

6. A notification will be displayed. Tap Continue.

7. Once your update is completed, a notification screen will be displayed. Tap OK.
