Titanfall DLC Release Date Set For May; First Map Pack Expansion Called ‘Expedition’ With 3 Maps Revealed At PAX East 2014

The first Titanfall DLC release date may be set for next month.

Earlier today at the PAX East 2014 event, Respawn Entertainment unveiled the very first Titanfall DLC called Expedition. The Titanfall DLC release date is scheduled for May and it includes three maps, which  take place after the game's campaign.

The maps for Expedition are Swampland, Wargames and Runoff. Reportedly, a major feature of the Swampland map is the large number of trees that will allow the players to run in unpredictable paths. As posted on Polygon, the map is "set among the ruins of "archaic alien technology.""

Describing the two remaining maps for the upcoming Titanfall DLC, the IGN post reads:

The second map, Runoff, is loosely connected to Swampland. According to the developers, "it has a lot of pipes and water." War Games, the last map, takes place within the area titan pilots train in.

Gamers who purchase the Titanfall DLC pass, which is worth $25 will get instant access with Expedition, as well as other upcoming expansion packs. However, the price for the standalone purchase for the forthcoming DLC has not been announced yet. Respawn Entertainment shared that two other map pack contents for Titanfall will arrive and their release dates are yet to be revealed.

Moreover, Respawn also announced during the event that a brand new 2v2 Last Titan Standing mode will arrive in the future as a free update. Burn Cards will also be available.

Customization features will also be added, specifically modifying the titans with the use of decals. There will also be new "identical hash tags" which Titanfall players can use. Respawn said, "It's supposed to span beyond just gaming sites. You don't have to trade gamertags and make parties and be online at the same time. It's not a way to boost. It's a way to coordinate so you can choose your teammates."
