Upcoming Samsung Phones 2014: Galaxy Note 4 Getting 4K Display? Alleged Specs Include 64-Bit Snapdragon Chipset, Fingerprint Scanning Home Button, 3GB RAM

Upcoming Samsung phones 2014: Samsung takes competition seriously, and it will do anything to outsell or completely shame its rivals through the help of its marketing onslaught.

Earlier this year, rumors of a 12.9-inch iPad filled the Web, and we all know what the Korean manufacturer did - it launched the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 at CES in Las Vegas.

And now it will do the same thing for the rumored 5.5-inch iPhone 6 which may be released in September.

According to a report by Trusted Reviews, the next generation of Samsung's once-laughed-at phablet lineup will be unveiled at the IFA event in Berlin in the same month.

Basing on previous releases, that is certainly the most probable route Samsung will take for its Galaxy Note 4. But aside from the usual scheduling, Samsung may be giving everything it has got in order to outplay Apple's first huge iPhone.

In the report, the Galaxy Note 4 is rumored to get a super high resolution display - either QHD (2560 x 1440) or 4K (more than 4,000 pixels) resolution. We are just wondering whether QHD (2K) or 4K resolution will be an advantage or a disadvantage.

Given that the smartphone is powered by a battery, we would expect a huge one to fit the Galaxy Note 4 especially because its display would be the company's popular Super AMOLED variant.

This could pose a problem to consumers who do not want a heavy or thick device, and Samsung would have to find ways to place the high definition display, and a capable battery to power it for a long period of time.

In the report, other rumored specs include a 3GB RAM, a 64-bit Snapdragon chipset, and water and dust resistance.

We'll just wait until September to see the Galaxy Note 4 and the iPhone 6 battle it out in a slugfest.
