Huawei Ascend P7 Appears Yet Again In Leaked Images, Rumored Specs Can Easily Match Against HTC One M8 And Samsung Galaxy S5

Huawei Ascend P7: For the previous weeks, we have read almost everything about the Huawei Ascend P7. And to think that its announcement date is on May 7, the Chinese manufacturer sure is having a difficult time keeping the device a secret.

Now, the Android-powered smartphone in several leaked live images again, and design-wise it certainly looks like a premium device.

According to a report by GSM Arena, a Chinese website has once again leaked a number of live photos, showcasing its rectangular design and thin frame.

As the successor of the Ascend P6, the Huawei Ascend P7 looks similar to its older sibling. However, inside is an entirely different story.

On board is a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.6GHz and powered by the company's HiSilicon 910 chipset. While we still do not know whether the chipset can match Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801, the smartphone's 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory are flagship material.

The Ascend P7 also packs a 5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, again at par with current flagships today. Hopefully, the device would also run on the latest Android version out of the box.

The top competition for the upcoming Huawei high-end smartphone should be Samsung's Galaxy S5 and HTC's new One (M8). While both devices have more power in terms of quad-core CPUs (2.5Ghz and 2.3GHz respectively), they simply cannot compete in terms of pricing.

The Ascend P7 is expected to be a couple hundred dollars cheaper than its competitors, which provides a great advantage for the device in emerging markets.

In previous weeks, the Huawei-made Ascend P7 has appeared in leaked images, and even passed through the Chinese website Tenaa, which is the counterpart of FCC in the country.

Huawei recently announced that its upcoming flagship phone will be unveiled on May 7.
