Upcoming Windows Phones In 2014 Tipped To Boast 2K Displays As WP 8.1 Update Provides Support, May Possibly Match Evenly With Android Counterparts

Upcoming Windows phones 2014: Microsoft's BUILD Conference was held a couple of weeks ago, yet it is still fresh in our minds that Microsoft has provided significant improvements for the platform for the Windows Phone 8.1 update.

In the press event, the new update will bring a new notification center, customizable Start screens and the voice assistant Cortana. But that's not all.

There is also the fastest keyboard in the touchscreen world.

And after all of those features, it looks like the progress of Windows Phone is not stopping there.

According to a report by BGR, NokiaPowerUser claims that the upcoming OS update will be able to support 2K displays, just like the ones found on Android.

In addition, Windows Phone 8.1 would be able to support Snapdragon chipsets, which would be good news for mobile manufacturers and partners with Microsoft.

During the event, Nokia unveiled its Lumia 930 and 630 handsets, which both run on the latest update. Samsung's ATIV SE is also bound to be released soon by Verizon on its network.

In fact, the report states that Windows Phone smartphones running on the latest update are already under development. This means we could be seeing much more powerful and higher end devices from Microsoft's OEM partners.

Currently, a number of international brands have made an agreement with Microsoft including Nokia, Samsung and Sony.

Meanwhile, on the Android world, only a few devices have notched the 2K display one of which is the newly announced Oppo Find 7. The upcoming LG G3 flagship is rumored to get a 2K or QHD (2560 x 1440)  resolution display, but we cannot promise anything until LG has made the announcement itself.

So, are you now interested in crossing over the fence from Android or iOS towards Windows Phone OS?
