GTA 6 Release Date Rumors: Next Version Of Rockstar’s Open-World Action-Adventure Game To Take Place In Liberty City? Developer Creating The Upcoming Iteration For PS4 And Xbox One?

GTA 6 release date rumors are now beginning to surface online.

The latest grapevines about GTA 6 release date suggest that Rockstar is now developing the game for the newest generation of game consoles, the PS4 and Xbox One. Furthermore, reports also suggest the possibility that GTA 6 might be set again in Liberty City, which according to International Business Times is a "metropolis based on real-life New York City."

According to the IB Times post, the NY -based DJ, Whoo Kid, discussed his music in various video games during an interview with Ballerstatus and shared, "I was in 'Call of Duty' and I was in some 'Grand Theft Auto' games. I'm bout to be in the new 'Grand Theft Auto' that takes place in New York again."

This then sparked GTA 6 release rumors that the upcoming iteration might take place in the fictional Liberty City, which was also the setting for GTA 3 and GTA 4.

The game developer has not yet made any comments about these emerging GTA 6 release date rumors. However, the company has "about 45 years of ideas" for the GTA 6. As cited on Latin Post, Leslie Benzies, the Rockstar President, said, "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what GTA 6 will be, but we've got some ideas."

Benzies further continued:

"It comes from the idea first. Where is it going to be set is the first question. Then that defines the missions; you're doing different things in LA than in New York or Miami. The map and story get worked up together, and the story is a basic flow of how it works out so you can layer the missions in."
