Dina Lohan, Lindsay Lohan's Mom, Pleads Guilty to Aggravated DWI; No Jail Time, But Car Won't Start If She's Drunk

Lindsay Lohan's mother, Dina Lohan pleaded guilty in New York to a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated. DUI in exchange for no jail time. Dina Lohan now has something in common with her daughter Lindsay. The plea deal will see Lohan's license revoked for a year and an ignition interlock device installed in her car.

Dina Lohan appeared in First District Court in Hempstead on April 15, 2014 to plead guilty to aggravated driving while intoxicated and speeding. Lohan was arrested at a 2013 traffic stop. Nassau County prosecutor says Lohan is expected to be sentenced June 3 to a conditional discharge and 100 hours of community service. She will also pay a fine. The aggravated DWI charge, as opposed to simple DUI, considers her high level of intoxication.

As part of the plea deal, Dina Lohan is expected to be sentenced to pay $2,600 in fines, complete 100 hours of community service and attend a drunken driving program. TMZ also reported that Lindsay's mom will likely have her license revoked and an interlock device installed in her car.

Lohan lawyer Mark Heller told CNN that she can resume driving once the interlock device is installed, even though her license remains officially revoked. He said "Considering this is the first day of Passover, we were very pleased to receive an offer which would resolve her criminal case in Nassau County with a commitment of no jail, no probation, and that afforded her the opportunity to resume her driving privileges shortly. She felt this was a great beginning for the Holy week and she was happy with that result."

Leaving the court, Dina said "I'll never be back here again. You can quote me on that one."

Lindsay Lohan's mom, Dina Lohan, 51, was arrested on the Northern State Parkway last September. Police said she was going 77 mph in a 55-mph zone. Police said her blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit. Lohan initially claimed that she had been injured during her arrest. Dina recanted after being evaluated by emergency personnel, who found no injuries.

According to Nassau County district attorney spokesman Paul Leonard Lohan's driver's license will be revoked and her car must have an interlock device, that tests breath alcohol levels before a car can be started, installed for a year.

Lohan is expected to be sentenced June 3.
