Wonder Woman Actress Gal Gadot Gets Approval From Original Amazonian Princess Lynda Carter ‘I'm In Her Corner, I Just Hope They Write Well For Her!’
Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot has been cast for the upcoming Warner Bros. movie Batman vs. Superman, and not everyone is happy with it. However, she's doing her best to fit for her Amazonian princess character.
Gal Gadot's casting as Wonder Woman, has stirred quite a criticism, and during her interview with Batman-News, the Israeli beauty herself has addressed all the hate messages.
"Hmm. I represent the Wonder Women of the new world. Breasts... anyone can buy for 9,000 shekels [Ed: Israeli currency] and everything is fine. By the way, Wonder Woman is amazonian, and historically accurate amazonian women actually had only one breast. So, if I'd really go "by the book"...it'd be problematic."
She's also very vocal, telling Batman-News reporter what her training regimen is to easily adapt for her role.
"It's the physical preparations that I'm starting now. A very serious training regime - Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, jujutsu, Brazilian...1,000 and 1 things...I'll gain body mass."
However, Wonder Woman Actress Gal Gadot is not alone in her fight as the original Amazonian Princess Lynda Carter is by her side despite all the criticisms. "I'm in her corner," Carter admitted to Huffington Post about Gadot. "I just hope they write well for her!"
However, the original Wonder Woman is worried about how the writers would come up with the story about the Amazonian princess and how they will manage to embody her in a new generation.
"I'm very hopeful she embodies the essence of Wonder Woman....It's less about super powers and more about heart and intellect and a sense of right and wrong with a goodness in her. Often times, writers really want to take a male superhero and dress him up as a female - and that's just not who she is....I'm saying they make Wonder Woman a macho Superman type character - they make her mean- and that's not who she is."
What's also interesting is that she didn't just sign for one film, instead the Israeli model turned actress has three movies installed for Warner Bros, according to Variety.
Following her appearance on Batman vs. Superman, Gal Gadot is most likely to reprise her role as Wonder Woman for the yet unconfirmed Justice League film. What will be her next film after that? Well no one knows up until now, but it could be her very own Wonder Woman film, who knows really, with all the Superhero films flourishing in the box office.
This could become a reality once, Batman vs. Superman film hit the theaters, and if the reaction is strong enough for her character. If the audiences don't react quite as expected, then Wonder Woman could still appear in supporting roles for at least three more DC films.
