‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Cast Rumors: Thanos Actor Has Been Chosen! Joss Whedon Wants More Conflict In The Sequel! Did He Also Take A Shot At Bryan Singer?

An interview with "Avengers: Age of Ultron" director Joss Whedon resulted in some revelations and very interesting teasers. Did it also include a jab at "X-Men: Days of Future Past" director Bryan Singer?

Whedon had a chat with Empire Magazine for their latest issue. He gave more insights on the character of Ultron and why he would be an interesting and formidable villain for Earth's Mightiest Heroes. As transcribed by SuperHero Hype:

"I'm having a blast with Ultron. He's not a creature of logic - he's a robot who's genuinely disturbed. We're finding out what makes him menacing and at the same time endearing and funny and strange and unexpected, and everything a robot never is."

In the course of the interview, he had a comment that can be taken as criticism directed towards "X-Men: Days of Future Past" director Bryan Singer:

"I fiercely dislike the idea of just throwing in more people for the sake of doing that, but last time I had all of Earth's Mightiest Heroes versus one British character actor, and I needed more conflict."

The expression "throwing in more people for the sake of doing that" may be a reference to the bloated cast of "DOFP" which kept on adding more and more characters.

There are also new characters in "Age Of Ultron." The most significant would be The Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. Whedon gives a brief introduction:

"They're not very happy with The Avengers. Their powers are not insignificant and they're quite different from what the Avengers have faced before."

Another definitive but possibly critical comment with regards to the look of the movie now that the set is 'global:'

"The number of different looks and textures and moods we're getting from the British locations is stupid awesome, because this, palette-wise, is very different. I'm trying to make a different film. Because why would you make one movie twice? That seems weird."

And finally, the big reveal. Thanos is already confirmed to appear sooner or later in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Do they have an actor in mind?

"There is an actor. I'm not sure we want to announce it yet."

Well, played as always Mr. Whedon. The guessing game commences on the Thanos actor. Will we find out by May 1, 2015 when "Avengers: Age of Ultron" is released? We will surely try!
